Jokas Apart and other horrible puns from IIMC

Update: 2 weeks into Year 2 →← Back to campus!

i-Bank KLPD

In the secretive culture of the IIMs I find that the biggest surprise for new batches of students is the following fact about investment banking placements

1. Investment banks mostly recruit for summer internships and then decide if they want to extend full time offers.
2. Very few investment banks recruit in the finals
3. Summer placements are totally dependent on your “profile” and independent of your performance in IIM. This typically means that students from better undergrad institutions and better academic scores do better.

The implication of the above three points is obvious to the guy who thinks, “its ok if I dont get in during summers. I’ll study really hard and get into an i-bank eventually”.

I just thought I should put this point out there.
